No RLTO – Terminate Tenancy

This letter applies to residents within the city of Chicago only who are covered under the Residential Landlord Tenant Ordinance (RLTO). Please see the Exceptions to the RLTO to ensure the law applies to you.

  • I suggest that the proposed letter state that it is being sent to the landlord in accordance with section 5-12-170 of the RLTO and that the tenant read that section to be certain that the date of termination of the lease does NOT violate said section.
