NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY

Metropolitan Tenants Organization (MTO) is fully committed to serving all those who seek our assistance equally. Article IV of our By-Laws states: The Organization shall not directly or indirectly discriminate against any person or organization by reason of race, color, gender, age, religion, disability, national origin, ancestry, marital status, sexual preference, parental status or source of income.

GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES

The grievance procedure described below may be used by any person seeking assistance from the Metropolitan Tenants Organization concerning a problem or dispute which relates directly to MTO or a member of its staff.

In the event an individual has a grievance involving their interactions with MTO or a member of its staff, he/she should submit a written statement concerning the grievance to the Executive Director who will acknowledge & investigate the grievance, and attempt to find an amicable resolution within 10 days.

If an amicable resolution cannot be found, the individual filing the grievance may continue the grievance by writing the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. The Committee will consult with the Executive Director, and see if an amicable resolution can be made, or dismiss the grievance, within 30 days.
